ENDORSED BY RB POLICE OFFICERS’ ASSOCIATION AND SIERRA CLUB

I am honored to be endorsed by Sierra Club and the Redondo Beach Police Officers’ Association!

The RB Police Officers’ Association endorsement demonstrates that our own police officers believe I am the best candidate from a public safety perspective. There was no talk of a bond for police and fire stations when I was appointed to officer. But I broached the topic with the City Manager and it snowballed from there…. From to nothing to approved bond in less than 8 months. I’ve gone on ride alongside, witnessed the Aerodome system in action, sat in the Communications Center and in the Beach Life Festival command center to better understand our public safety operations. I have worked directly with the police chief on several issues in my short time as Mayor.

The Sierra Club endorsement is a testament to my 30 years of dedication to the environment. From Surfrider Foundation, to South Bay Parkland Conservancy, to my work on the Harbor Commission and General Plan Advisory Council, to now my work as Mayor. I make our parks, open space, and environment a priority. I added storm water runoff to our Strategic Plan – so we infiltrate water into our aquifers where it will be stored for droughts rather than dumping it in the ocean. I have changed four city projects to include native plants to rebuild our dwindling local ecosystems. I wrote new environmental policies and goals into our Open Space and Conservation element of our General Plan that were actually lauded by our Community Development Director at the time. And most recently I worked with SCE to gain approval on a new park that had been stalled for over two years.

I am proud and honored that both these organizations recognize my efforts and trust that I am the best to lead in public safety and environmental issues in the future.
